My good friend Kyle's last night of work at an independent movie theater was tonight. The New York Times was hosting a film festival this weekend and showed a ton of new movies from Borat to Pursuit of Happyness. Kyle was able to get our friend Amy and I in (for free!) to see Freedom Writers which I was psyched about because I had been wanting to see it.
I won't spoil it for any of you who are planning on seeing it, but the movie is amazing. I half-expected it to be a tad on the cheesy side, but it's raw and real and heartwarming at the same time. Hilary Swank confirms her status as an oscar-winner with this film and the rest of the cast (no names save a few) are just as talented and strong.
GO SEE THIS MOVIE....
You won't regret it :)

i got a winter jacket! i'm not too keen on buying jackets online but they had a cute one on the old navy website that was online only so i took a chance and ordered it. it came today and i looked at it and i wasn't sure but i tried it on and it's cute. best part is ... it's soooooooooo soft!
yay for me :)
and i got the BEST box of goodies in the mail from my little brit boy because of my sad finger :)

sooooo....today at work wihle attempting to put a 70 lb dumb bell back on the rack i severed the top of my middle finger on my left hand :\
it was only the tip so they didn't try to re-attach the piece that nicole found on the weight rack (ew!)
i'm ok though ... had a fun trip in the ambulance and the doctors were nice and i have a prescription for vicodin which is gorgeous (i had never tried it before now)
i really don't see how my finger is just going to close up but that's what the doctor said. he also said i was very lucky because if it had cut off even a centimeter more, i would have lost my whole nail bed (which is still in tact) so my nail will eventually grow back.
now i just have to get used to this because i'm lefthanded, hence i do EVERYTHING with my left hand (using the bathroom sucks)

I purchased the most amazing Bob Marley book last night while looking for a book for school at Barnes & Noble.
If you're a fan (like me) you need this book ...
There's an insert with a copy of the handwritten lyrics for "Turn Your Lights Down Low" which made me all teary-eyed ;p
